He's got a house in Miami on the water, and a
house in Malibu that he flies his jet to.
He drives a Lamborghini, but never gets a ticket
‘Cause he parties with the mayor and he's really, really fit.
He's got a closet filled with Dolce & Gabbana
And he always has his picture in some fashion magazine.
He's got a thousand bottles in his private wine collection
And his own skybox at all the 49-ers games.
He may be rich, but he's not rich, he don't have you,
He's got a PhD in macro-economics,
and a masters in Philosophy from N-Y-U.
He's been a Mensa member for so long he can't remember.
And he often uses words with 5 syllables.
He studies particle collision,
sub-atomic cell division,
pre-Columbian religion,
literary composition.
Infared emissions,
Oriental superstitions,
military expeditions,
and the works of Van Gogh.
He may be smart, but's he's not that smart, he don't have you.
Your mother thinks that you settled for less.
We never see eye-to-eye.
I don't think much of her country-club taste.
And she doesn't like my tie-die
He's got a lot of friends with all the right connections.
He never pays for tickets, and he gets the best seats.
He can call up any restaurant, and always get a table.
And if he ever needs a kidney, you can bet he won't wait.
Hey may be cool, but he's not that cool.
Oh he sounds so smart, but he ain't that smart.
Yeah, he may look rich, but he ain't rich.
He don't have you.
But I do.

Juxtaposing poetic balladry with roaring feedback and warped piano lines, the Vermonter's music is as stunning as it is unsettling. Bandcamp New & Notable Jan 21, 2024
